MUCHi is a Shenzhen eyewear maker that builds nothing but outdoor eyewear. No fashion line, no seasonal drops, no lens we would not wear on a long route ourselves.
Why we started
The gap was never the expensive end
Spend $200 on a pair of sunglasses and you will be fine. Spend $20 and you are often buying nothing more than dark plastic — no UV filtration worth the name, rubber that turns slick the moment it matters, and a frame that fails on the first real trip.
The people who get hurt by that are not pros. They are weekend hikers, first-time trail runners, and people who bought a pair at a petrol station on the way to the trailhead. MUCHi started because we thought it was possible to make something genuinely protective and sell it at $69 — as long as you refuse to pay for brand, packaging and a mid-market mark-up.
How we work
Three rules we do not break
One lens standard, whole range
The $69 Drift and the $149 Glacier Shield carry the same UV400 filtration. Cheap models in a range usually mean cheaper lenses; here the difference in price is frame material, light category and sealing — never eye protection.
We test in the field we design for
Every model goes onto real routes before it goes on sale — long alpine days, wet coastal trails, snow. If a frame slips, fogs or fatigues the temple after six hours, it does not ship. This is why the range is six models and not sixty.
Repair before replace
The two-year warranty is real and so are spare parts. Grip components, nose pads and replacement lenses are all available long after the sale. Outdoor gear should not be disposable simply because one small part wore out.
Where we are
Designed and built in Shenzhen
We are based in Shenzhen and work directly with our own production line, which is the reason we can hold one lens standard across the range without pricing ourselves out of the market. There is no middle layer taking a margin between the factory and you.
It also means we can answer technical questions properly. If you email us your route and your current pair, we will tell you which model and which light category fits it — and if none of them do, we will say so rather than sell you the wrong thing.
